Biography
Hastings Clayton joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC in September, 2008 as an Associate in the Workers' Compensation Department. She concentrates her practice on the defense of employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims and insurance coverage disputes. Hastings is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and of the Workers' Compensation section.
Hastings graduated from The University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from The University of Georgia School of Law in 2008. While in law school, Hastings served as First Year Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, and was an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law.
In addition, Hastings served as Senior Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, and has a publication addressing whether rights of publicity can be used to satisfy civil judgments. The Note is entitled, "Squeezing “The Juice”: Can the Right of Publicity Be Used To Satisfy a Civil Judgment, " was published in the Fall 2007 issue of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law.
Hastings currently resides in Grant Park with her husband, Lee. Lee is an attorney at an Atlanta law firm practicing primarily in the area of insurance defense. Outside of work, Hastings enjoys running and following University of Georgia football.
