Emily Anderson joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch and Medlin, LLC in 2018 as a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation department. Prior to joining the firm, Emily was an associate attorney with another defense firm where she defended employers, insurers and third-party administrators throughout Georgia. She has handled workers’ compensation claims from the start of discovery all the way through completion in the most cost-effective manner, whether that required pursuing settlement or litigation. She has successfully resolved numerous types of claims including those involving catastrophic designation, death of an employee, drug-use, and idiopathic injury. She has also settled a variety of high value cases, many involving Medicare interests and structured settlements.
Emily is originally from Boston Massachusetts. She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for her undergraduate degree and earned a B.S. in business and decision science.
Emily attended the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, graduating in 2014 cum laude. Upon graduation, she was admitted to the bar in 2014. Prior to working in workers’ compensation defense, she worked at a general practice law firm incorporating start-up businesses, protecting their intellectual property rights, and educating them regarding labor laws.
Outside of work Emily is an avid reader, and enjoys attempting different road races around Atlanta, as well as exploring new cities.
