Scott Hastey joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC, as an associate in 2014. Scott’s practice is primarily devoted to municipal law, an intricate area of practice demanding knowledge of governmental, administrative, contract, real property and land use matters. Scott utilizes his diverse transactional and litigation experience to represent private clients in business and corporate matters as well.
Scott has dedicated the majority of his career to providing full service legal representation to municipalities, where he works closely with clients to identify, evaluate and mitigate risk, advise clients on regulatory compliance, and analyze current operations and proposed action plans within the context of the organization’s established policies and long-term strategic plans. In his representation of cities, Scott also routinely prepares and negotiates complex contracts, drafts legislation and regulations, and provides counsel in litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Scott served in a general counsel capacity to one of the largest cities in Georgia, providing day-to-day legal representation for the city since 2008.
Scott grew up in Metropolitan Atlanta and attended Woodward Academy. He enjoys spending time with Janet, his wife, and their two young children, playing sports outdoors, and following Auburn football.
