Shivam Kumar joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch and Medlin, LLC in 2019 as an associate in the firm’s Workers' Compensation department. After graduating law school, he initially worked at a firm specializing in constitutional law, where he garnered experience writing briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. Now, Mr. Kumar concentrates his practice on the defense of employers and insurers in Workers’ Compensation claims.
Although Mr. Kumar grew up in Boston, he fell in love with Georgia during his undergraduate studies at Emory University, graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in History. During his time at Emory, he was placed on the Dean’s List for multiple semesters based on his academic performance. Prior to attending law school, he worked at another high-volume litigation firm as a paralegal. Mr. Kumar earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2018, where he was the Vice President of the South Asian Law Student Association and an active member of the Federalist Society. In his free time, he enjoys rooting for any Boston sports team and exploring Atlanta with his friends.
