Hastings Beard graduated from The University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  She earned her J.D., cum laude, from The University of Georgia School of Law in 2008.  While in law school, Hastings served as First Year Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, and was an editorial board member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. 

In addition, Hastings served as Senior Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, and has a publication addressing whether rights of publicity can be used to satisfy civil judgments.  The Note is entitled, Squeezing “The Juice”: Can the Right of Publicity Be Used To Satisfy a Civil Judgment, 15 J. Intell. Prop. L. 143 (2007).

Hastings joined Bovis, Kyle & Burch in September of 2008 as an Associate with our Workers’ Compensation Department. She concentrates her practice on the defense of employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims and insurance coverage disputes. Hastings is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and of the Workers’ Compensation section.

Hastings was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee.  She currently resides in Grant Park.  Outside of work, Hastings enjoys running and following University of Georgia football.  Hastings may be reached at (770) 391-9100, extension 3927, or via email at hhb@boviskyle.com.
