Scott Busby is a 1990 graduate of the Emory University School of Law. He was admitted to practice in the States of Florida and Georgia in 1990. He began his practice in the area of first-party insurance defense with the firm of Butler, Burnette & Pappas in Tampa, Florida. In the Spring of 1992 he came back home to Atlanta to Bovis, Kyle & Burch, LLC, where he now is a member of the firm. He graduated with honors from Asbury College, in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he enjoyed serving as the Student Body President. Scott also holds a Masters in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from Georgia State University.

Scott practices in the fields of first and third-party insurance disputes, employment law, general commercial and estate litigation, and handles many litigation matters for the City of Alpharetta. The firm's work with the City of Alpharetta provides Scott with the opportunity to handle a variety of litigation matters including condemnation, zoning, and employment issues.

Scott has experience with estate litigation and his business background has resulted in his involvement in a variety of commercial disputes as well. He was a contributing author for the Southern Reporter for the "Property Insurance Annotations Fire and Extended Coverage," 3rd Supp., published by the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He has also given presentations on tort and employment law, insurance coverage issues and subrogation.

He has handled matters before the United States Supreme Court, the Federal 6th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal and many federal district courts. He is admitted to all levels of state and federal appellate practice in Georgia and Florida.

On a personal note, Scott is a native of Atlanta, Georgia who attended The Westminster Schools. He enjoys focusing on his family with his wife of over 16 years, Dawn. Scott's children, of elementary age, are his pride and joy - Jordan, John and Ashley. Scott is also very proud of his parents who recently retired from 40 years of service in The Salvation Army, completing their careers as the National Commanders for The Salvation Army for the United States of America.
