David has practiced law in Atlanta for over twenty years. Following graduation from the University of Michigan School of Law, he moved to Athens, Georgia, and taught contracts and commercial law at the University of Georgia Business School for three years prior to relocating to Atlanta and starting full time practice of law. He has been associated with Bovis, Kyle & Burch, LLC since mid-1998.

David grew up in southwestern Michigan. He earned a B.A. with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law and also holds an LL.M. in Taxation with Distinction from the Emory University Law School. He served for several years as an adjunct professor of law at Emory where he taught business planning.

David is a transactional lawyer. His practice specialties are planning for start-up and small businesses and mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions. He has also had substantial experience in securities law and litigation, business taxation, international business transactions, and commercial and contract law.

David is admitted to practice in all courts in Georgia, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the U.S. Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals.

David lives in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta with Chris, to whom he has been married for over 28 years, and is a member of Christ the King Cathedral. He is reasonably fluent in Spanish.
