Sean graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University College of Law. He earned a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. in Social Science Education at the University of Georgia. Since graduation from law school, he has practiced in the areas of workers' compensation and general liability.

He is a member of the Sierra Club, and his hobbies include cycling. He resides in Atlanta with his wife and three children.
