Benjamin A. "Ben" Leonard practices in the firm's Workers' Compensation section and joined the firm in February 2009.  He has been licensed to practice law in Georgia since 2000 and since that time has represented employers, insurers, self-insurers, and third party administrators in numerous Workers' Compensation claims throughout the state of Georgia. He has successfully argued a number of reported cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals on a wide range of issues in Workers' Compensation.  He is a member of the Georgia State Bar, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Atlanta Claims Association, the Atlanta Lawyers Club, Georgia Motor Trucking Association and is also active in the Georgia State Bar and Atlanta Bar Association Workers' Compensation Sections. He has been a featured speaker before a number of these groups and groups across the United States on Workers' Compensation topics.  He is a regular contributor to a number of publications on Workers' Compensation topics as well.  Ben also has experience in Subrogation, Wills and Estates, Real Estate transactions, Bankruptcy, NCAA compliance and representation of amateur athletes in NCAA administrative hearings.
 
He earned his Juris Doctor from the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 2000. While in law school he served on the Board of Governors and also as a student editor of the Journal of Southern Legal History. He served as the head coach of the Mercer University Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams while in law school. He earned a BA in Political Science and a BA in History, Phi Alpha Theta, in 1995 from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.  While there he was a four year letterman on the Cross-Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track teams.  He also served in the student legislature and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. 
 
Ben is very active with the Georgia Kids' Chance Foundation which provides college scholarships for the children of workers who are injured or killed in industrial accidents in Georgia. He currently serves on the Kids' Chance volunteer council and since 2005 has been the Race Director of the Annual Kids' Chance 5K Road Race, which under his direction has raised over $100,000.00 towards scholarship funds for qualifying recipients. He is active with the Homeless Pets Foundation and Mostly Mutts organization, both of which actively place homeless pets with responsible owners. Ben has recently been honored with a selection to the Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, an honor only bestowed upon the top 2.5% of all attorneys under 40 in Georgia.  He can be reached at bal@boviskyle.com and his direct dial is (678) 338-3964.
