Elizabeth L. "El" Haynes joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin in 2025 as an associate in the firm’s civil litigation group. Her practice focuses on civil litigation, premises liability, and insurance defense.
El graduated magna cum laude from Western Carolina University in 2017. She graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law in 2024, where she earned numerous accolades, including induction to the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers, recognizing her outstanding academic and advocacy achievements. During her time in law school, El earned CALI awards for Civil Procedure I and Wills, Trusts, and Estates. El also served as vice president of the Georgia State Student Trial Lawyers Association mock trial team, with which she competed in the Judge Paul Joseph Kelly Jr. Invitational Trial Competition, and twice in the National Trial Competition. She also received the Alex Patafio Public Interest Leadership Award and the Georgia Legal Services Program’s Pro Bono Powerhouse Law Student Award for her dedication to public service.
Before joining Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, El worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Coweta Judicial Circuit, where she represented the State of Georgia in a number of criminal trials. Prior to law school, El spent four years as a plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice paralegal.
Outside of work, El enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their cat, exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, and volunteering her time to furthering access to justice for all by providing pro bono legal services to Georgians with low incomes.
