Joy Lee is an associate in the firm’s insurance defense and family law department. Before joining Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, Joy gained experience at other firms, specializing in insurance defense and professional liability work. Joy also worked as in-house counsel at a major insurance company, representing insured clients as well as pursuing investigation and subrogation against fraudulent claimants.

Joy attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate studies and earned a B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance. She attended law school at Georgia State College of Law, where she worked with the Health Law Partnership Clinic, advocating for low-income families receiving care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, in legal matters including, education, supplemental security income and other social benefits.

Outside of work, Joy enjoys volunteering at her church in Atlanta, searching for the best cafes and fishing.
