Wendy Lewis joined Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin in 2022 as an associate in the firm’s Workers' Compensation Department. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced as a criminal defense attorney in Atlanta, Georgia handling complex criminal cases at every critical stage of the criminal justice system. Ms. Lewis has strong litigation skills as she has served as Senior Lead Counsel on multiple jury trials, has argued several legal motions, and appeared for other court hearings before numerous Superior Court Judges.
Ms. Lewis earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010 from West Virginia University College of Law. She was a recipient of the W.E.B. DuBois Fellowship Scholar and the Brown W. Payne Scholar. While attending law school, Ms. Lewis was actively involved in the L.U.G.A.R. Trial Team and the Black Law Student Association. In addition, she was a Research Assistant for Professor Scully and a Lexis Nexis Research Assistant. Ms. Lewis received C.A.L.I. Awards for Trial Advocacy, Appellate Advocacy, and Criminal Procedure. Ms. Lewis received her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
