Beginning in the 1980's, before there were any mediation services in the State of Georgia, John Bovis, Steve Kyle, Jack Burch and Jimmy Singer were conducting mediations in other areas of the country initially as advocates for clients of Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC. They recognized at that time mediation was not only a wave of the future, but could result in substantial savings to clients, early resolution of cases, and provided the ability to resolve particularly business matters on a win-win basis when principal-to-principal discussions had failed. The attorneys at Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC, of course, advocate on behalf of clients in mediation throughout the country.

The firm also offers services of some of the members as mediators. Jack Burch, Jimmy Singer and Charles Medlin have completed the formal training required by the Georgia Supreme Court to be court-approved mediators in the State of Georgia. Each of them, however, along with John Bovis and Steve Kyle, currently through the firm offers their services as mediators only on a private basis.

Jack Burch mediates all manner of civil cases, but has a particular emphasis on construction law matters. Jimmy Singer mediates general civil cases, and also has a particular emphasis on product liability and insurance coverage matters. Charles Medlin, in addition to mediating general matters, specializes in family law and domestic relations mediations. Steve Kyle mediates all manner of civil disputes. John Bovis' mediation practice is limited to business, commercial and real estate matters. All of these partners provide mediation services for matters pending throughout Georgia and the panhandle of Florida.

The majority of the services are provided at the firm's location in Atlanta, Georgia. When the firm moved to its present location in the summer of 2008, our office space was configured to facilitate simultaneous multiple mediations. Our office contains eight conference/caucus rooms arranged to accommodate four to twenty persons, with extra sound-proofing insulation. Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin's mediation rates are very competitive and a discount is offered for travel time outside the Atlanta metropolitan area in multiple party mediations.
